Description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>As Unidades Federativas do Brasil são entidades subnacionais autônomas (autogoverno, autolegislação e autoarrecadação) dotadas de governo e constituição próprios que juntas formam a República Federativa do Brasil. Atualmente o Brasil é dividido política e administrativamente em 27 unidades federativas, sendo 26 estados e um distrito federal. Conforme o Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística, a área relativa ao polígono representativo das Unidades da Federação foi calculada (em km²) segundo a Projeção Equivalente de Albers, cujos dados constam da Resolução nº 5, de 10 de outubro de 2002. O dado de 2010 provém da delimitação atualizada das Unidades da Federação conforme a versão 3.04 da bCIMd.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
